Rodavante Terms and Conditions

Please read carefully the renting conditions in order to proceed with the vehicle reservation.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are confirmed by group. Although choosing a vehicle model used by RODAVANTE, an alternative vehicle with similar specifications may be received. We are unable to guarantee a specific vehicle model.

 

DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS

Clients need to be in possession of a valid credit card to collect the vehicle. This MUST be in the name of the main driver and CANNOT be a pre-paid credit card, an Electronic use only card or a debit card and must have sufficient funds available (Minimum is the amount of the excess shown below). This enables RODAVANTE to authorize a security deposit, which covers damage to un-insured parts of the vehicle, fuel charges if applicable, and in the event that a claim is made when the insurance has been invalidated.If Costumers chooses SCDW (Reduction or exemption the excess), Credit card is still needed or a security deposit of 200,00 € cash (Minimum) is asked.

 

AIRPORT FEE

Rentals starting or finishing at the airport will be charged with 15,00 € (Quote online includes this charge).

 

RETURN AND COLLECTION

Client will pay additional costs if the vehicle is returned out off our offices area or if collected on unauthorized locations (away from the reach of our services in Madeira). Vehicles can only be delivered to client's accommodation (hotels only) for an additional charge . See section “ Local accommodation fee”

 

 

DRIVER'S QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum age is 23 years and maximum age is 80. A charge may apply for depending on driver's age. See section “Driver’s Age fee” . All valid driving licenses which have been issued within the European Community will be accepted. Other driving licenses must be accompanied by an International Driver's Permit or confirm with Rodavante acceptance of a specific one. Driver MUST have held a full license for a minimum of 1 year.

 

 

ADDITIONAL DRIVER

Additional drivers are available for an additional charge of 15,00 € per rental.

Excess on CDW*

*CDW (Collision Damage waiver) is included on the Online Standard Renting price. It reduces costumer’s responsibility for damages to the rented vehicle. The deductible (Excess) for car damages are as follows:

OPTIONAL INSURANCE

TCDW- Insurance for Tires, wheels, Windows, Mirrors or any other glass parts

SCDW- Excess exemption or reduction

PAI – Body injuries insurance for all persons in the car

 

Personal accident insurance - PAI is available. It covers driver and passengers for body injuries in consequence of a car accident.

Insurance for Tires and glass TCDW  is available online. It covers damages to Tires, wheels, mirrors, windows, head/rear lamps, windscreen and any other glasses.

Exemption or Reduction of the Deductible amount  applied on  CDW is available . SCDW will exempt or reduce Deductible .

IMPORTANT - Extra Insurances aren't available for drivers who are under 26 or over 70 Years old.

Damages caused to underside , Engine, exhaust, suspension and steering system, car keys or car loks, car interior and car roof  are never Included in any Insurance

 

AIRPORT SERVICE NIGHT SUPPLEMENT

On arrival at Funchal Airport clients must proceed RODAVANTE’s desk in the arrivals hall where they will complete the contract and then collect their vehicle from the airport car park. The desk at Funchal Airport is open 7 days a week from 08:00 HRS to 23:59 HRS. When collecting or returning  a vehicle out of normal hours there is an out-of-hours charge of 40 EUR. .

 

ONE WAY RENTAL

An extra tax (15 EUR - minimum) applies when picking up a car at one rental location and returning it to another.

 

FUEL

Costumer must return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel he received. No refund on left over fuel!

 

BABY'S CHAIR

Available on a daily tax of 6 EUR (Several models are available).

 

EARLY RETURN

There is no refund for early returns

 

EXTRA HOUR

A grace period of 30 minutes is given after stipulated returning time. First extra Hour is charged on 20% of the one renting day. After that a full day is charged.

 

PAYMENT

The estimated renting cost and extra expenses must previously deposited. All Visa credit cards, Master Card, Eurocard, American Express and Diners Club, are accepted. Cash is also accepted on locally paid Rentals.

 

TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS

Traffic infractions and possible traffic fines are Driver’s own and exclusive responsibility.

 

IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS

The renting ends at the day and hour determined by the client, mentioned in the renting contract. If you wish to extend or shorten the renting period you must ask for permission to do it and make all the necessary changes. If the vehicle is not delivered on the agreed dates it will be considered as missing. In that case the local authorities will be notified. The Client is responsible for the payment of any other cancelled Rentals due to the delay of vehicle return time.

 

LEGAL TAX

Will be added the VAT's current value (22%) over all extra charges, taxes and rental fees.
